During Black History Month, we're spotlighting Project Glimmer Star Award Honorees who are breaking ground in their field.  Allyson Felix is the most decorated U.S. track athlete, male or female and the founder of her own shoe brand, Saysh, the shoe she actually wore when she won two medals—one gold and one bronze—at the age of 35 at the Tokyo Olympics.  Allyson’s neverending fight for female equality has earned her the title of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People, not once, but twice.

The most inspiring thing about Allyson is that she uses her voice and her platform to make a difference in the lives of women and girls.  Allyson doesn’t wait for the world to be fair—she becomes the change she wants to see and she uses her voice.

We honored Allyson with our Star Award for her work in empowering girls, and are excited to share her inspiring words:

Over the last couple of years, I have seen myself grow and shift and reconnect with my purpose in a whole new way. I have been through a lot of adversity, I started a family, I wasn’t supported by my sponsor, and I found the ability to speak out on issues that affected me and others. Going through my experiences of encountering injustices and inequality has made standing up and fighting for the rights of women a passion for me.”

We are so grateful to have such a powerful role model in our Project Glimmer family. Click here to watch Allyson’s full speech.
