Black Lives Matter
BLACK LIVES MATTER. OUR CONFIRMATION TO THE YOUNG WOMEN WE SERVE.
For ten years, Project Glimmer has worked to bring resources, inspiration and empowerment to a community of young women in whom we believe passionately - teen girls and young women who have experienced poverty, homelessness, child abuse, and neglect.
Most of our girls and young women also suffer regularly from racism. The majority of the girls and young women we serve, now in all 50 states, are of color. Hate, harassment, and bias, conscious and unconscious, based on the color of their skin are part of their experience in America.
At Project Glimmer, we believe in and devote ourselves to these girls and young women because we believe they are the future of our country. We fight for individual confidence, equality, and empowerment. It is invaluable for her to hear from women of all races and all economic classes - “We believe in you.”
Project Glimmer remains committed to helping end racism in America. Let us make the values implicit in our first decade of work crystal clear:
Project Glimmer is outraged by the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and every other known and unknown person.
Project Glimmer stands with the Black community and in solidarity with the civil rights movement seeking racial justice. We want the systemic oppression and murder of Black people in America to end.
Project Glimmer condemns racism and hate, and we celebrate diversity and equality.
“Societies do not work unless everyone participates, there can be no justice—not racial, social nor gender—without all of us coming together to create lasting change.”
